Uses Of Auto Seat Covers
It is an irony that auto seat covers are the most neglected thing in a car, while so much importance is given to its looks. Replacing seat materials.....How expensive and hard can it be?
Now our days, the dealers who sell the Subies they have in stock in my area have these torn and finished seats that are even revealing the sponge cushioning! Be it leather or fabric, if I go back to the Subaru dealer can I ask them to replace the covers on the seats? How much am I looking at for leather or Fabric and does it cost more if I have bucket seats?
Oh yeah I forgot to mention that I live in South Africa, but I visit the U.S on ocasion.
Google upholstry shops in your area. Sometimes thats the cheapest route considering the size of the tears in your seat.
I would also suggest checking local enthusiest forums such as Nasioc.com and looking thru the classifieds. Subarus have a huge following and there are tons of parts available for them second hand. I had to replace my seats in my Impreza and was able to find a nice set of front and rear seats for just under 500.
Dealerships will charge retail and it's INSANE the prices they come up with. IMO your best bet would be either Nasioc or eBay.
